The Cup pessary with supporting membrane is designed for use in cases of first-degree or mild second-degree uterine prolapse, where a little extra internal support is required compared to the unsupported version.

Made from medical-grade silicone, the supporting membrane provides added stability while maintaining comfort and ease of use. This makes the supported cup pessary a suitable option for managing early-stage prolapse where gentle but more secure support is beneficial.

For patients with more advanced prolapse, cystocele, or symptoms of stress urinary incontinence, alternative options such as a urethral shell pessary (available with or without a reinforcing membrane) may be more appropriate, depending on clinical assessment.

Insertion & Removal

Insertion

The pessary is gently folded and inserted into the vagina, where it unfolds and positions to provide internal support. The cup shape allows it to sit securely by creating light suction. Correct sizing and placement are essential for comfort and retention. Initial fitting should be carried out by a healthcare professional, who may provide guidance on independent management where appropriate.

Removal

To remove, gently break the suction by pressing a finger against the rim of the cup before easing it downward and out of the vagina. Removal frequency should follow clinical advice. The device should be cleaned regularly and reviewed periodically to ensure continued suitability and vaginal health.

Indications & Key Features

The Cup Pessary (Without Support) is designed to provide internal support for women with pelvic organ prolapse. Its cup-shaped design creates gentle suction to help the device remain securely in place, offering effective support without the addition of a supporting membrane or urethral knob. Made from soft, medical-grade silicone, it is flexible, durable and suitable for clinical use.

It is intended for professional fitting and clinical management, and is suitable for mild to moderate uterine prolapse and cystocele. It is not intended for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence.
